Caveman

For animation class, I am creating a story about a caveman in search for his supper. Here is a character design for the short film. I've been playing with light a lot lately and love the 3D effect it gives my characters. I also placed the caveman in front of a photo I found online.

Prehysteria Bird

After drawing "Dino," I wanted to create other prehistoric animals. I made up this goofy din0-bird using the same coloring technique as the "Dino Revisited" illustration.

Dino Revisited

I've posted this little Dino before (see it here) but have always felt something just wasn't right. After a few adjustments, Im happier with the drawing.

Lately, Ive been playing with different coloring styles. In this image, I've colored the outlines rather than inking it in black. The base colors were done in Adobe Illustrator, with shadows and highlights in Adobe Photoshop.

Business Card Idea?

Giving Back

Here is a design I did for a Cancer Support Group, Victory by Faith. I wanted to work in a different style for this piece, using solid colors and shapes. This is the final product.

Silhouettes

I tend to focus on too much on detail rather than the form of my characters. Working with silhouettes forces you to address the detail in the negative space which truly defines a character. Here is an attempt to silhouette the characters from Dancing with the Stars.
