"Party in the Plaza"

Fall in South Texas means time for Festivals.  In Victoria, we have Bootfest.  Bootfest is a weekend long festival in the Downtown Plaza where vendors, artisans, and performers gather to entertain the community.  This piece depicts the party at Bootfest, along with some of our hometown heroes!  

2012 Harkboards

 With the debates going on, and the election right around the corner, Hark '' has been putting out their Harkboards, an info graphic with sound bites.  I've been creating the art for these.  Hark's Harkboards are featured on Mashable.com, a leading source for news, information, and resources for the Connected Generation.

Clean Living

Here's my latest animation for Bright Idea Media. This is the intro for Victoria Environmental Services campaign - "Clean Living with Darryl and Marie."


Here's a look at what has to be designed ("Darryl's" truck in this case) before animation.  

The commercial is now airing in Victoria, TX, with music and sound effects. I'll post the actual commercial once it's up!

"OH YAR!"

I don't draw creatures or monsters much, so I took a stab at it.  He's got a little Jim Henson quality to him.  "OH YAR! OH YAR!"

Hooked on a show

 Yeah, I said it... Im hooked on the new season of River Monsters with Jeremy Wade.  Here's Jeremy hookin' a Riva' Monsta'!

Misleading Characters

Here are some misleading characters, set in Muir Woods, CA. On my 21st birthday, my buddies, Leo and Brandon, and I headed for Muir woods to explore. I'll just say we saw more than just the Redwoods! The other half of the story in this image was also inspired by a strange occurrence... I swear, I'm not a weirdo

I went back and further developed these two characters. I included my rough sketches along with silhouettes to show some of my processes.

Texas Warrant Roundup (2012)

Bright Idea Media and I teamed up again to produce another commercial. This one's for the Warrant Roundup. The process was a bit tricky, but the hardest part was getting my hand model-ready for the illustrations! Have a look!

Sasquatch

I recently entered a mascot design contest put on by PowerMax.com. They work with Macs and sell Mac products. They wanted a redesign of their mascot "Max," a Sasquatch. I ended up getting 1st runner-up. Here's a look at my take on "Max", the goofy yet cheerful Sasquatch. You can view the winner and entries at their facebook page.

BOOTFEST Full Piece

I mentioned this piece already in a previous post but only a small section. I'm currently pretty busy with a few projects and haven't been able to post anything new so I'm going to go ahead and share the entire thing with ya. Here is a scene of an ol' Texas bar.... there always seems to be the same kinds of people there. Go to BOOTFEST Oct. 21-22nd to see the 3D cutout piece in person.

Gargoyle

I was a bit hesitant to post this because its a little different from what I normally draw and didn't want people to think I'm moving on from friendly cartoons to devils. It's a Gargoyle! It was originally sketched for an MMA shirt that never made it to production. I recently found the sketch and just "inked" it in illustrator just for fun.
