I just signed up for Stephen Silver's Character Design class. The class is through an online school called Schoolism. It's a six week course where assignments are given and then critiqued by Stephen. This drawing is the first assignment. I'm happy with it, but some of the proportions are off and his arms look funny. That's okay though! With the help of Mr. Silver, I will improve in such weaknesses as this. The picture was drawn, scanned in, and colored in photoshop.

Mr. Waxman
I'm trying to be more productive over this winter break and attempt to draw everyday and post one of my drawings from that day. Here is today's. Still trying to work with caricatures and still struggling to push the features more to make it more caricature rather than portrait. I also used crosshatching which I am not very familiar with, but would like to practice more. Lately I've been inspired by Tom Richmond's work in MAD Magazine. He does great caricatures and shares some of his techniques on his blog. Pretty soon here, he will be posting a tutorial on drawing noses. Check tomorrow for new drawing.
