Ceramics

For this project, the class had to throw some forms on the wheel.  From there we had to disassemble the forms into various pieces and combine them to create a new form.  This is my project.

The second picture is the head ceramic piece I was working on earlier as posted.  This is it after being fired.  The next step would be to paint it with acrylic paint.

I like to paint

So, I was looking through more pictures, trying to make more space on my computer, and found these two paintings.

I painted these last year in painting class.  The first piece, "Willie," was my first attempt at painting and my favorite one from that class.  It was 18x24 in. Unfortunately it was stolen.

The second piece is titled, "Weight of the World."  It was 32x24in.  The style was inspired by Derek Hess.  I like the meaning behind the piece as suggested from the imagery.  I ended up selling this to my uncle.

Another Sculpture

I made this in my sculpture class like the other piece.  I modeled it in Maya (3D Modeling Software) first, then constructed it out of wood.  It's about 4ft in height, width, and length.

Model Update

Still working on modeling that character... It should be done soon!

I was just digging up some old photos and came across this one.  I made this in sculpture class: Mattress pad, and wiring on the inside.  One of my favorite pieces.

Commissioned work

Working with ideas... this is the first of probably many to come.

Artist under the influence

Check this out - Acid trip painting.  This is the sixth drawing from a series of nine drawings.

"These 9 drawings were done by an artist under the influence of LSD -- part of a test conducted by the US government during it's dalliance with psychotomimetic drugs in the late 1950's."

Makes you wonder about the "Great Masters" of art....

Modeling

Here's a screenshot of my modeling of the character.  Unfortunately my reference images were erased, so I may just start all over.

Drunk Drawing

I'm working on a set of characters within a cowboy/western theme.  I've showed this drawing in a previous post.  Now, I'm working with different color variations.  Not sure which one I like.  Suggestions?

Also, I'm currently working on modeling this character in 3D (Maya).  I don't have any screen shots of it right now, but I will try to post some tomorrow.

New Logo Design

Scanned in my drawn images and traced over them with brushes in photoshop.  I had fun working on this project!  Can you guess what the company does?
