So the first piece is unfinished, obviously, but was part of my independent study last year. It's a drawing taken into Photoshop and painted there.
The second piece is another "painting" done in Photoshop. This one is more realistic, but the black outlines give it a cartoony feel. I'll probably take out the outlines and make it more photo-realistic.
Got this book a while back. It's Tom Bancroft's Creating Characters with Personality. So far, it's the best Character Design book out there. Not only does it give you tips and designing characters, but it gives you little assignments. I have yet to start on them, but excited to get to them...
So a few minutes ago I got an exciting phone call... Cartoon Network. They called and asked if I was interested in interning there, and if so, the Fall or Spring.
Preeetty exciting, but a little nerve wracking at the same time (time to grow up!). So I said Spring, because I'm pretty locked into my schedule and living situation. They're supposed to call back in December.
